Still remember what you have learned during those 'L' licence driving days? To turn left have to stretch out the right arm and do a counter clockwise circling. What about getting ready to stop? Put out the right hand, wave up and down a few times then raise the hand at a right angle perpendicular at the elbow. Guess what? Once we passed the test we tend to forget what we learnt but merely rely on the indicator and the brake light indicator.
How many would depend on the two side mirrors while driving and during reverse aka gostan parking? Do you turn your head and look backwards before overtaking a car in front or trust the right side mirror or both looking at the side mirror thereafter looking backwards before deciding to overtake? Of course first thing first the right indicator light should be turned on before overtaking. How many are aware of 'blind spots' which could be gravely dangerous if not properly adjusted. What you gonna watch in the video below is some adjustment advice on the optimum angle for our two side mirrors which are very beneficial and useful tips for us to adhere to.

Hand signals? These days, cars aircon...where got use hand signals anymore? Ya, I do use the side mirrors...and turn to look if I have to.

Agree with STP about the handsignal.
But then nowadays a lot of people dont use signal. Just simply turn and cut in.

last time in the late 70s, no left side mirror.. so just look at the front mirror.. not good in side parking then..
The L plate reminds me of terror when i drive in army...

huh??!! giving a hand signal?? i thot only motorcyclists do that (in the undang-undang theory)?? car drivers only give the signal lights what.. and i think it's not save to do that also, stretching your hands out of your vehicle can cause you to loose your arm in any second in nowadays crazy traffic lor..

i don't think any drivers can drive cars without rear and side mirrors these days.

Maybe the younger generation have never seen people using hand signals. Nowadays, I am thankful if the drivers turn on light signals before making a turning as many do not even to this. As for mirrors, cars are ok. Many motor cyclist do not have any mirror to guide them. I always wonder if these people have bird/horse eye 180 degree vision or are they relying on their 6th sense?

SK இ probably no hand signals in KL or new Y generation no need. Perhaps smaller towns do have this practice seen some in the 90s. Yes could lose a hand or an arm driving in KL haha.

As for me, i will use the side mirror + looking backwards = safety come first.
I wonder why the rating of a accident still increase.

i usually turn my head to see the car at the back before i drive to another lane. most of the time, blind spot happens at this time. before that i must make sure the distance between me and the car in front and the speed too :)

Hand signals? Are you kidding? In this day and age, we might lose an arm for doing that. High crime rate, mah, and criminals are so creative these days, hor? haha..
Thanks for the video clip. Gotta go adjust my mirrors. What I normally do is to turn my head to see if there's a car sneaking up behind.

These days cars are very advance. Some models have the feature to park the car for you. I wonder if kids today still learn all those manual tricks.

Oh yes have to be careful of blind spots when driving. You never know if there's another vehicle right just next to you.

I had too car many accidents, often being a victim. Now I have to rotate my head around after seeing 3 mirrors for extra 'spiritual' blind spots. I believe that sometimes ghost could play tricks.
