ക SURVIVAL ~ 人為財死 鳥為食亡

Chinese idiom ~ 人為財死, 為食亡
[Pinyin]  rén wèi cái sǐ, niǎo wèi shí wáng
Human because of wealth die, birds because of food perish {direct translation word for word}
It is said that some people will die for money in the way a bird will lose its life fighting for food: The wages of avarice is death.

The [wáng & sǐ] have the same meaning, perish or death relating to the birds struggling in pursuit for food  to stay alive and human beings because of greed risk their  life  for wealth. "In evolutionary biology, struggle for existence is a theory which argues that, because food and room are in limited supply, for a living thing to exist, it must struggle". This theory was formulated in 1798 by English demographer and political economist Thomas Malthus.

ക I'M POSSIBLE ക

According to Darwin's theory : "in the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment." Thanks to [SK] for the Chinese translation of 'Survival of the Fittest' 適者生存 [shì zhě shēng cún]. You are about to witness one of the most intelligent animals on earth, the Bottlenose Dolphins in the Coast of Florida developed a strategy with the most brilliant feeding method called "herding". The leader squeezes a school of fish into a contracting circle feeding on the stunned fish at a perfect timing. Watch the video from BBC on 'Life' to the very end where you shall see the various creatures facing the Challenges of life every single day.

Nice peaceful beach front with all the turtles returning to lay their eggs. BUT..

What a SHAME the turtle eggs are stolen to be sold. There is absolutely zero struggle for survival as there is no chance even for the helpless female turtle to cover up her own eggs, before the unscrupulous intruder steals away what Nature has given her to protect her young.

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

In this dog bite dog bone 狗 咬 狗 骨 [gǒu yǎo gǒu gǔ] world we are facing stiff competition everyday and that's the reality of life ~ the survival of the fittest. Dare to swim with the sharks or prefer with the Bottlenose Dolphins? Check this out "Swim With the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive" - by Harvey Mackey [HERE] a book highly recommended by Donald Trump: "A must for everyone and anyone entering the business world". Good Luck for not being eaten alive. Enjoy your weekend and have a whale of time.

ക ID Ten T Error

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Josh, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control Center (MCC) and asked him to come over. Josh clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?

He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.'

I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.'

Josh grinned.... 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?

'No,' I replied. 'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'

So I wrote down: I D 1 0 T

I used to like Josh, but now not anymore,  you little rascal..

So much for the laughter for those first timer reading the ID Ten T Error and for those who have seen this before its OK to do a 'refresh' for the mind needs "refresh" just as the computer requires "refresh" often. We are never too young or too old to learn new things or tricks. Have heard people saying they are too old to pick new learnings about computer or the internet. That's a lame excuse it's a matter of sheer determination whether how desperate you wanna learn or not. If age is a stumbling block you be the judge after watching the two videos below:

If a 28 months old child can do it, no reason why an 80 year old senior child cannot do. You mean to say you cannot teach old dogs new tricks? Blogger Cleffairy has been finger clicking good on her Desktop at a tender age of 7 when most would be struggling with pencils and papers.

[you are never too old to learn]

This little Zoe was barely 2 years old, she knows how to operate a computer and surf the internet. As you can see, she even knew how to use the touchpad and of course the mouse scroll wheel (which some may not even know what's for). How is that for a two year old?

ക ONE DAY WITHOUT INTERNET

At the 100-day mark Obama said he is “proud of what we’ve achieved but I’m not content” in a prime-time news conference. For a normal probation of senior executives would be 6 months and some earliest at 3 months. From conception to birth it takes roughly about 9 months for the baby to be born. In Daoism 49 days somehow has been significantly practised in their rituals and customs. Do you reckon 49 days or 100 days is long compared to 9 months? What about comparing the shortest 49 days to ONE day and that particular ONE day you are facing a technical glitch with internet and you cannot get your work done from noon until the next morning. Guess that ONE day is so hard to stomach and its like 100 days to me. The same analogy of sitting with someone you don’t like for 5 minutes seems like 50 minutes versus chatting up with your sweet heart for 50 minutes and that was  merely like 5 minutes. You can guess how much frustration is building up by looking at the cartoon below, a picture paints a thousand words..

pcfrus

Internet connection got cut off before noon did a ‘Diagnose and repair’ nothing happens. Wait another hour nothing happens. On/Off the router still nothing happens. Called TM at 1300 88 1515 or 100 and you get this “Selamat datang..untuk Bahasa Malaysia tekan 1, for English press 2, for technical assistance press 1...please enter your area code & service number followed by the # key..Huh what is area code and service number? What the heck is the service number? Gee I found out later its referring to the telephone area code and service number is telephone number oops. Spent quite a number of hours trouble shooting the problem and I would say TM technical staff are very helpful. Until all else fail we gave up and I pray hard for the next day.

Actually the whole problem comes from external due to some TNB cable fault. I received two follow up calls from TM in the morning regarding my report on the faulty connection,  I'm impressed they have raised the bar with tremendous improvement in customer service. All went on well after 10:00 am this morning and what a great relief I'm alive and kicking again lol. ~:o)

ക What To Do When You Are Trapped In A Lift ???

Have you ever paid attention to this sign at the closest to any lifts before "IN CASE OF FIRE DO NOT USE LIFT"! Ever wonder what is missing? If cannot use lift then use what? When someone gets panic he/she may not think right and just cannot decide what to do. That was the past maybe the fire department are fully aware of such flaw and insisted its compulsory that these three little words "USE THE STAIRCASE" must be added in all signages.

We never know when and where accidents will happen to us OR people around us. Most of the time we take things for granted. Do you 'look before you leap' each time the lift stops at your level? It is very common routine for people to walk into the lift the moment the two doors open wide without looking further. Better be safe than sorry, look again to check if there is a lift in front of you before you take a giant step into it especially when the lift is empty. What about while in a lift, it suddenly broke down and it was falling at a fast speed? Fortunately, elevators in the real world have so many safety features that this kind of stuff never happens. Check out more info on the safety features here. Anyway just in case, read on and hope this piece of information may help any of us when things do happen to yourself, our friends and our loved ones.

First ~ Quickly press all the different levels of buttons in the lift.
When the emergency electricity supply is being activated, it will stop the lift from falling further.

Second ~ Hold on tight to the handle (if there is any).. It is to support your position and prevent you from falling or getting hurt when you lost your balance.

Third ~ Lean your back and head against the wall forming a straight line.
Leaning against the wall is to use it as a support for your back/spine as protection.

Fourth ~ Bend your knees.
Ligament is a flexible, connective tissue. Thus, the impact of fractured bones will be minimised during fall.
