இ Random facts VI Part 2 ~ The Years Gone By

They say the first love is the sweetest but that first cut is the deepest. The first sight of snow is Bananaz's most unforgettable experience for the very first time in Mt Fuji, after living in a tropical country where the weather is hot and humid all year round. Sorry no additional pumping of adrenalin or excitement like bungee jump, sky diving or para-gliding for this post but more on going places on holidays.
The only thrilling excitement was joining the Outward Bound School in Lumut. Could remember vividly the Warden's words of encouragement saying Bananaz is 42 years 'young' among the rest of the younger bounders. He constantly reiterated the OBS motto "To Serve, To Strive and Not To Yield" to remind us never to give up. Just to share one experience that almost all would shudder with a chill down the spine when comes to the fear of darkness in tandem with 'ghost' and Bananaz is no exception. Die die we must go through solo camping where you build your own tent far away from each other and naturally the bounders would hum Lobo's 'I dont like to sleep alone' the whole night through. What surprised me was when the fear of snakes, wild boars or tigers grew so huge it dwarfed the unwholesome thoughts of ghosts completely out of the mind.

wenn said...

1995? that's so many years ago! u should visit it again..

Isaac Tan said...

lucky you bro!I still have no chance to catch the snow. The closest I was to playing with snow was winter in Shanghai a few years back. It started snowing 3 days after I am back in Malaysia. ><

foongpc said...

Oh! Solo camping sure sounds scary! But snakes and bears are definitely more scary than ghosts in the wilderness! Haha!!

foongpc said...

Looks like you were a globetrotter in your younger days eh? Cool! : )

Autumn Belle said...

Yeah, I heard about OBS in Lumut. I bet the training is good to toughen up the youngsters before they embark on their real life journey into adulthood. After seeing Where God Ghost and The Ghost Must Be Crazy, I'd be so scared to camp alone in the jungle!

I think you have lead a pretty adventurous life already. Thanks for showing us Nikki and Mango. Together you make a happy family.

Bananaz + Mango = Nikki (Apple or Cherry?)

It will be a sentimental feeling watching Nikki celebrate her birthdays year after year because this is also your (Bananaz & Mango) achievement as husband & wife, mom & dad.

Autumn Belle said...

Oops, I mean 'Where Got Ghost' - typo error.

Another suggestion,
Bananaz + Mango = Pineapple (ong lai) to bring you lots of 'ong' :>)

Ice said...

what an awesome time line you've created. unfortunately I don't have younger pictures of myself. Getting old now hahaha!

Wow, looks like you've been to quite alot of places!

Looking at your pictures, noticing that you look the best now. Don't get me wrong, you wasn't not good looking when you was young, but you look really diplomatic now. Nikki looks more alike you. Your family picture on Father's Day celebration is so lovely.

lina said...

Wah! You sure had many adventures.

Eh, how come eating Japanese steamboat all alone one? Others finish eating and you didn't? xD

lina said...

p.s. where did you get that "tanda" of pisang. All for you?

rainfield61 said...

Reading about your favorite music: Y2J 神木與瞳 - 為你而活 and looking at your picture (age), I am thinking about mismatch in between.

But this is normal. It happens to me too.

Especially when I grow older, I become gaga.

wenn இ 16 years ago would have lots of changes. Really like their drainage system its world's class.

Isaac Tan இ So near and yet so far missing the snow by 3 days. While in Switzerland Bananaz experienced the heavy snowing and it was so nice seeing the snow landing on your palm.

foongpc இ At that time ghost doesnt exist any more haha. Travel a bit cant find nice solo pixz of USA & Europe and other Asian countries.

London Caller said...

Ha ha... When I saw the first picture of you holding the cut wood, while reading you "first love... deepest cut..."
I thought you fell in love with the wood, man!
Ha ha....

But did you know that's a rare condition called "Objectum sexuality". Just like the name suggests, objectum sexuality means one who loves objects!
Go and Youtube it, you'll be really surprised what kinds of things people can fall in love with.

I have objectum sexuality too.
I am in love with money.
Can't get enough of it! Ha ha!

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

Autumn Belle இ Likey 'Where God Ghost'. Yeah agree didnt realise Bananaz has travel to so many places until I this post. Pineapple is my fav fruit and friends always laugh at me said men usually dont eat them. OBS is great toughening place.

Ai Shiang இ Just lucky to have pixz taken. Those days dont quite enjoy photography. Age is just a number.

Hayley இ Not that many if you divide by the number of years. Got friends who travel overseas every year lagi geng.

ladyviral இ No complains over the past life has been kind.

MRC இ When Bananaz started thought wanna remain anonymous so that can be cheeky or mischievous but then found out how cheeky could I get, always a nice blogger *ahem*.

yvonne இ That pix was taken by Mango haha. Nikki is 100% a gem.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

Caroline இ Glad you are getting the fun.

Pete இ Both could be eaten but crabs need to cook, bananas merely peel will do.

Sheoh Yan இ Ageing gracefully? haha. Yup that was a pretty nice dinner together.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

lina இ Yeah loh they left me alone to have their photos taken. Those pisang emas are from Papa's punya small piece of palm oil estate harvested for sale to the fruit wholesaler.

rainfield61 இ Oh mismatch? Hahaha. Fell in love with this song Y2J 神木與瞳 - 為你而活 when I heard it from 988. Since dunno Chinese dunno the title know little here and there from the chorus got it translated and found it in YouTube. Knowing me when I want that something desperately would go all out to get it. The latest I heard was from Anthony Neely's 'Sorry That I Loved You' from 988 and I did the same thing again as earlier..I found it haha.

Bananaz seem to have achieved and tried so many things before.

Snow can be so beautiful. It's really wonderful when you don't live in it. I have fond memories of playing in it during my time in Switzerland and i can't remember it being tiresome at all. it was freezing cold but it was a fun adventure to go out and play.

LifeRamblings said...

great memories and nice photos. good to know that you had fun-filled holidays during your younger days.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

London Caller இ Oops sorry missed your comment 1001 apologies. No lah fell in love with snow haha. Oh a buzz word ~ objectum sexuality? Will check it out on the YouTube meanwhile I love $$$$ too lots of them hahaha.

Faisal Admar இ Can understand your feeling on the first sight of snow ouch you fell!

Life Ramblings இ The very first sight of snow was overwhelming still love playing in the snow now. Quite lucky we are not like those cold countries facing challenges of facing snow for months. Early morning need to scrap them off the wind screen, put on iron chains to the tyres etc. Didnt realise I had so much fun those days until I done up part 1 & 2. Count our blessings no complaints

That pix in 84's was in Taiwan when I saw all tourist were taking pixz with the pretty and these two elderly women we left aside unnoticed and felt so uneasy for them. They are also making a living earning couple of dollars to take pixz with tourists. Felt so bad kesian them betul. What the heck what's wrong with taking pixz with older ladies they are just my mamas. tQ.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

Alice Law இ Thanks, didnt realise got so much fun in my life like I said earlier until I done these two entries. Taking things for granted I presume. You will one day visit places especially Korea when your children are elder or go with them together that would be fun.

CH Voon இ Maybe next project company send you to Japan. Looks only gaya not 'powderful' haha. Yup 1980 2nd guy is Bananaz. Oh sorry didnt add in word 'daughter' doing it later. Yes daughter and soulmate. Sorry to disappoint you bro not birthday today few more couple of months later.

CH Voon said...

No... project in Japan. If yes, i think i am not the one to go...

I only go to the place which nobody want...to go :(

bingo! i guess 50% correct.

I try to find soulmate in internet... cannot find the correct definition kekeke... ur english level very good... until i dont know :P

London Caller said...

Ha.. Did you get any enlightenment about objectum sexuality? This modern age, we have all types of sexuality! Oh boy... Ha ha!

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

CH Voon இ Getting closer 50% not bad. C'mon you pulling my leg look at Vanessa she is smiling telling me you are bluffing hahaha. Bananaz also half past 6 in Engrish quickly double check google and found the word 'soulmate'..lolz

London Caller இ Yup learning heaps and enlightenment from you first on human body and now objectum sexuality. Besides loving solid stones also love $$$ muahahaha.

Alice Phua said...

You sure have travelled a lot (as in overseas) in your younger days. As for me, I'm still in the saving-money-for-children mode, so I can't afford to go overseas so much (except for one 2nd honeymoon trip to Shanghai).....unless there is a windfall! ^_^

Ever Green Tree said...

Must compliment the picture perfect family. The last pic is the best @ Father's Day celebrations. Lovely to get to know your interests n travels.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

Alice Phua இ True if on my own may not be travelling so often. Sorry didnt mention that all the tours are fully paid for by company as an incentive. You have been on a 2nd honeymoon trip already how lovely.

Ever Green Tree இ Yes love to travel its company incentive trips. My daughter insisted to buy me dinner on Father's Day despite me declining. A nice celebration together.

London Caller said...

I left a message on your comment in blog last night.
Not sure if you have read it...
Anyway, there's a slight difference between objectum sexuality and fetishism.

Your love of solid stones and money is more like a fetish. Do you like psychology? It's actually very interesting. Go and read Freud.

willie a.k.a reptoz said...

Hello Sir,

With your age now I must say that you have been lucky to watch snow and visited many places in the world. I don't have that privilege.

I have never actually seen snow before except for the fake snow in Taman Bukit Cahaya/Cherakah in Shah Alam. Hahaha!

Ok sir, have a nice day.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

London Caller இ Love to buy scissors as well so its fetishism? Yeah read a few articles about pyschology by S Freud. You bet love to learn more about the mind.

willie a.k.a reptoz இ Lucky coz of the nature of job and company incentives thrown in foc even the tips are covered. Quite a generous CEO as tips alone for a single pax to US or Europe tour could come to a hundred plus ringgit. You will have the chance of seeing snow still quite young bro.

London Caller said...

Yes, mind reading is actually very interesting.
The way you act, the way you talk can reveal your personality.

One said...

You all look so familiar...???

London Caller said...

>Cantaloupe is what we commonly called rock melon here or is it another different kind of melon?

Yes, I'd think so.
People here say "aubergines" not "eggplants".
Our "persimmons" are their "Sharon's fruits"

hey, why isn't the "Turn the Light OFF" button working?? keke, actually you can do that, just add scripting to that particular area of the picture and you can ask your reader to click that switch to turn the lights off~~ :p

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

London Caller இ Talk & act can reveal a person's tail what about blogging? haha. Guess different part of the world will have different description of fruits or vegetables.

One இ Ohhh! We all look familiar? Its a small world though hope we are in your good books hahaha. tQ for posting my captions.

[SK] இ Took longer than expected for this 7 random facts since April thought could do it in 7X7=49 days to complete. Anyway one more last fact to go. Wah we are 20 years apart maybe more? Yeah travel a fair bit other than honeymoon in Taiwan & HKG the rest are company sponsored incentive trips to US, Perth and Europe which are not mentioned. Just remembered you have not make a trip to Greece yet probably after your course.

Have tried the scripting sorry cant get the lights to switch off would need the sifu's help again hehe. tQ.

levian said...

gosh, i didn't like the sound of camping alone. i probably frighten myself until the very next day! but i bet it was so challenging that it made the whole experience worth remembering. :)

London Caller said...

>Talk & act can reveal a person's tail what about blogging?

Blogging is a bit difficult.
The way the person writes can only reveal very little.
It's easier to make up stories through words.
That's why innocent girls fall for love letters easily.

இ Baŋäŋaz இ said...

levian இ Agree with you no easy to camp alone in the forest pretty scary and regretted joining OBS at that moment haha, however Bananaz survived.
